Great beginner microscope. This microscope produces a reasonable level of clarity and magnification. Children will be able to see individual cells, and even nuclei. Yes, it can be a little bit hard to focus at times since there is no fine adjustment, only coarse, and yes, your field of view does move a bit while adjusting it. But again, this is a $40 microscope made for kids. This is more than good enough to introduce your child (or even adults) to the world of microscopy.
The kit is excellent, and will give the user plenty of things to do with the microscope. A few prepared slides, and tools to make some simple slides of your own are included, along with the brine shrimp kit. If you are inexperienced with microscopes, here are a few tips: make sure that what you are trying to view is in the center of the aperture (where the light comes through), and always start on the lowest magnification.
Get ready for battle! Children would love to build the Firstbourne LEGO NINJAGO set with a red dragon. Create the HunterCopter helicopter stud-shooting for epic warrior ninja adventures. This great playset for ninjas and dragons were loving boys and girls!
Built with 882 pieces, this model includes 6 Minifigures: Kai, Cole, Heavy Metal, Jet Jack, Chew Toy and Muzzle, plus a chain of pedestals and Vengestone. Children will love epic scenes of battle between the model of the helicopter and the dragon.
Firstbourne Red Dragon strikes with a swiping tail and includes flapping wings and a Minifigure saddle to allow the dragon to ride the ninja figures. The model of the helicopter includes stud shooters, dragon bait and ninja weapon assorted
Gravity Maze is a puzzle-like that, only since it is more “game-like” as far as size, I think we’ll have an easier time keeping track of it. The basic idea is that you have various pieces with mirrors and angles, and one piece that emits laser light. The cards tell you where you must place multiple parts (and sometimes exactly what direction the piece must be in, sometimes you have to figure out the route to face it), and you set those up that way. The card also tells you how many and which other pieces you need to put somewhere on the board. You need to position the pieces in such a way then that when you depress the laser, it will light up the appropriate target.
It is far more straightforward than that description sounds, at least at the natural levels. Once you work up to the harder levels, you need to be thinking, especially for spatially challenged individuals like me. Once you figure out a solution, you can flip the card over to see if you are right. So far, none of us have found a different solution than what is on the card. As you work up in difficulty, you are introduced to different piece types. The base of the pieces are color-coded, so it is always pretty easy to figure out which one is which.
Here’s my favorite part though; it came mostly pre-assembled. Adding all the guys to the rods can take soooo long (trust me I helped a friend put one together a couple years ago) and I was dreading the assembly processes when we bought this. I didn’t even realize it came assembled until we opened the box and boy was I happy.
